Proceeds & Grant Applications
Green Man Day is more than just a great day out!
Green Man Day is an event run by volunteers. All money raised on the day goes towards making the event happen – covering essentials such as:
• Toilet hire
• Insurances and licences
• Council rubbish collection
• First aid
• Stage & tent hire
• Tables & chairs
• Signage & programmes
• Children’s entertainers
Any money left over is given back to the community in the form of grants – something we have proudly done since 2016.
Community Grants
The Pilton Green Man CIO supports local people by offering small grants or loans to community organisations, charities, groups, and individuals for projects that benefit Pilton. While the focus is the Pilton area (from ND District Hospital to Pottington and from Bradiford to Raleigh and Yeo Vale), we may also consider projects connected to Pilton beyond these boundaries.
Funding Availability
Funds come from the annual Pilton Green Man Day and other community events. Weather and circumstances can affect profits, but thanks to successful events in recent years, funds are available to support local projects.
How to Apply
Applications must be made using the Grant Application Form
Trustees meet four times a year to consider applications, with deadlines published in advance.
We welcome informal discussions before applying to help shape projects.
Applications must show clear benefit to Pilton and demonstrate charitable purpose.
Successful applicants will be asked to provide a short report (and occasionally a presentation) showing how funds were used and the outcomes achieved.
